In 2018, Apple introduced a virtual reality tape measure called Apple Measure, an app that enables you to use your iPhone or iPad camera to measure different objects. Simply point the phone camera at a surface and hit the + button. You can quickly gauge the size of objects, automatically detect the dimensions of rectangular objects, and save a photo of the measurement for later.
